Job Summary
The Senior Consultant (Professional Services) within the Consulting Services team is a pivotal hands-on role. The role encompasses responsibility for promoting, implementing and supporting clients in their adoption and ongoing use of CCH iFirm and supporting CCH in their expansion into the corporate compliance and reporting market. In that context, the role carries revenue, utilisation and realisation responsibilities as well as the supervision of staff on some engagements. The role is responsible for ensuring clients have a positive experience by meeting client requirements and objectives, ensuring needs are addressed in a timely and effective manner, and ensuring that the client’s investment in our software and services is optimized whilst concurrently driving revenue, growth and retention outcomes required by Wolters Kluwer.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-sales
- Support the sales team in software demonstrations to prospective clients and implementation partners
- In the pre-sales process, review clients current tax reporting and compliance processes (provision and return) and help the client understand where CCH iFirm would streamline, improve and support their process
- Assist in the preparation, scoping and pricing of client proposals
Implementation
- Implementation of CCH iFirm (new clients)
- Be a client’s trusted advisor on proper implementation and best practice plus provide guidance and instruction to your team
- Work in partnership with clients to ensure the successful implementation of our tax software including:
- Project management & reporting
- Reviewing the client’s current tax reporting process and proposing processes improvements to rationalise, streamline and better control the process
- Assist in planning process and technology changes with the client
- Organising and conducting training sessions
- Assisting the client in the setup and configuration of the software
- Liaising with technical specialists as required to setup and configure the software
- Initial post implementation support to ensure the client’s users successfully use and accept the technology
- Managing client expectations regarding CCH time investment
- Manage time to be within budgeted hours.
- Track time and work with the Sales/Implementation manager to ensure adequate recovery of time.
- Build strong relationships with consultants at accounting firms to assist in technology pre-sales and implementation activities
- Change management
Consulting
- Management of established lines of business or through the identification of new lines of business for consulting such as training, health checks, template creation etc.
- Pro-actively seeking, securing and executing consulting engagements including but not limited to: Ad-hoc consulting work around the implementation of CCH iFirm
- Creation and deployment of bespoke schedules and reports
- Health checks and best practice reviews
- Process improvement to produce fully automated and integrated end to end tax solutions (e.g., automated tax journal posting)
- Training
Support
- Act as a helpdesk escalation point for existing clients for more complex queries
- After hours support on an ad-hoc basis
- Provide support guidance to junior staff handling support calls
- Product Development & Roadmap:
- Utilise knowledge, observations and field experience to proactively contribute ideas to the ongoing improvement of our software products
- Ad-hoc assistance with product development design, testing and documentation
- Actively solicit and channel client feedback, enhancement requests, ideas and observations to the Product and Development teams
Account management
Part of the role is to also undertake Functional Account Management for clients in your jurisdiction. Functional Account Management entails:
- Maintaining a strong relationship with the client
- Ensure clients are happy with and continue their use of CCH software
- Be across client business process and current and planned use of CCH software
- Managing CCH services engagements and in most cases, deliver consulting services (training, usage reviews, etc.) into the client
- Assisting with managing client upgrades (e.g., help clients understand what is in an upgrade, how they could utilize the new functionality and help advise/guide the client through the upgrade process).
- Acting as an escalation point for support issues
- Working closely with the Commercial team to co-ordinate and align activity in order to optimise results for both the client and Wolters Kluwer
About you:
- 5+ years of experience with tax compliance (either through in-house tax team work or via professional services firm experience).
- Strong experience with tax provision/tax accounting (either through technical training, practical experience or through working on related tax software products)
- Experience in implementing accounting or tax reporting and/or compliance systems (setup, training, project management)
- Skills and experience in relation to risk management and process improvement would be advantageous
- Has a genuine interest in technology and its application to business
- Ideally ex accounting firm (with client consulting experience and good networks in tax advisory)
- An individual who has an outgoing personality that is motivated by spending time in front of prospects understanding their business and creating solutions to address their business needs.
- Project Management skills
- Some understanding and experience of data analytics would be advantageous
- Strong skills in designing, building, testing and deploying calculation models on spreadsheets or other mediums with a view to applying these in building out models within CCH iFirm
